On February 20, 11 volunteers “dug” in and helped program managers, Sandy Heath & Lindy Young get things done in Lupe’s Garden. In just about two hours, and even with a little rainfall, volunteers affixed cattle panels, repaired a gate, spread wood chips and tamped down fence posts in preparation of cultivating new produce. At harvest time, produce is often given to the Food Bank and Gleaners.
PCS is grateful to Scouts, Community Service volunteers, Board members, and program managers for helping “spread” some goodwill.
Garden co-manager Sandy Heath said, “We did get a lot done and enjoyed ourselves at the same time. I truly thank everyone that came out on a bit of a rainy Saturday to help us prepare for the new season. I’m very excited to get the garden growing again and look forward to seeing some of you there.”
